Aran is a versatile multidisciplinary materialsmith who creates work in various mediums. With a passion for sustainable sourcing, they frequently explore local used art supply stores, thrift stores, salvage yards, and antique malls to find inspiration and materials for their projects.

Drawing from the history of the arts and crafts movement’s, and modern design principles, Aran’s work incorporates a technology-meets-tradition approach to creating art. 

Aran is an experienced educator who has taught classes in art, metalsmithing, and craft-based business nationwide. They also serve on several art and craft organization boards and advisory committees.

Their other business is Aide-mémoire – an accessible fine jewelry company and store in North Seattle that stocks AranMade and Aide-mémoire creations, along with other artist-designed and handmade goods.
